How does it works

Sensor

This equipment is called a telemetric reflectometric water level sensor. This term reflectometric comes from its method of measuring water level using reflections of navigation satellite waves on water through GNSS Reflectometry technique.
The term telemetric comes from its ability to transmit data
in real time via the internet

Our sensor is easy to install and can be installed on simple structures such as poles and buildings with an open view to the water. Its use is versatile, as it can measure water from a distance!

The sensor operates autonomously using solar energy and batteries that can keep it running for up to 7 days without sunlight!

The raw data measured in field by the sensor is sent to the cloud where it is processed and the results delivered to the user!

Measurement from a distance

Our sensor is a type of passive radar, based on the GNSS Reflectometry technique. The sensor uses waves from navigation satellites that reflect off the water surface. Thus, the water level can be measured over a long distance and at a height of several meters, without having to be in contact with the water.

Easy installation

The sensor can be installed in just a few hours. Its simple architecture, consisting of an antenna, a box of electronic components and a solar panel allows it to be installed flexibly on a variety of structures.

The height of the antenna can be defined using topography or simpler methodologies. Our team has specialists who can help you with this task.

Higher capacity to operate in extreme events

Our sensor can be positioned at a safe distance from the water. In this way, the sensor continues to measure and send data even during major floods.

See how we performed during the floods in Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil) in 2024.

Global coverage 24h a day, 7 days a week!

Our technology uses satellites from global navigation constellations,

such as GPS, which guarantees us global coverage and 24/7 availability.

This allows us to take measurements at intervals of around an hour

with centimeter accuracy.

Online data

The field data from our sensor is sent and processed in the cloud by TideSat and then made available to you through our dashboard. You can view the data from any device on the Internet!
