Our history

TideSat is a university spin-off from the Modeling Laboratory (LabModel) of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS), as a result of years of research into the remote sensing technique called GNSS Reflectometry (GNSS-R), focusing on monitoring sea levels and continental bodies of water. The startup was born out of the desire to take the university's research to society, to democratize access to water level information through a low-cost sensor.

TideSat's journey quickly evolved from research to entrepreneurship through an international award from a competition called Galileo Masters in 2020, which provided the essential subsidy to start the entrepreneurial journey

Our differential stands out at the national and international level, through other awards such as the Gaucho Researcher Award 2024 and the Minas Gerais Legislative Assembly Award 2024.

Today, we are a benchmark in technological water monitoring solutions, helping to mitigate the impacts of climate change and promoting global innovation. Through TideSat's unique technology, we are revolutionizing the way water levels are measured and democratizing access to this information for a more resilient world
